Safety Technology International (STI), manufacturers of fire, safety and security products, has now moved from its Redditch based warehouse to its new building in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. The relocation comes as a result of the company’s growth within the EMEA in recent years and was supported by its parent company in Michigan, USA.
The new building, Taylor House, named after the company’s founder, Jack Taylor, incorporates offices, production and warehouse facilities all under one roof. The growth of the company is reflected in the size of the new building which will enable STI to continue to develop and secure the future of the STI brand across the EMEA in the coming years, as well as establishing the company within the local community.
Since the move last October, the building has undergone modifications in order to accommodate the business and allow the staff to continue the great and efficient work which STI are proud to provide.
On Friday 28th April, to mark the official relocation of the company to the area, an Official Opening Day was held. In attendance were customers, suppliers and members of the founding company from the UK and the USA.
The Rt. Hon. Sajid Javid, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, MP for Bromsgrove, was invited to officially open the building on behalf of the company. After meeting with the managers and staff, the Rt. Hon. was given the tour of the new building and facilities by the Managing Director, before continuing to officially open the building with a speech and unveiling of a commemorative plaque, in front of all guests and staff.
Jack Taylor, the founder of the company and now in his 80s was also in attendance, along with his family who run the US Head Office. Born in Canada, Jack spent the early part of his life living in Rugby, England, before settling in Michigan, USA in his early 20’s; where he married and brought up his family. With Jack attending the Opening Day, it allowed the company to pay homage to him with the reveal of a mural within the reception area, showcasing the beginning of the company back in 1980 and how the invention of his product, the Stopper, has continued to help prevent false fire alarms across the world for over 35 years.
From that one product STI now manufactures over 1000 products all designed to protect fire and security equipment from misuse. From the new building, the staff will be able to continue Jacks great work for many years to come.
Managing Director Steve Hunt comments: “We are truly honoured to mark our incredible progress with the attendance of The Rt. Honourable Sajid Javid MP and our founder Jack Taylor to the opening of Taylor House. It is testament to our loyal customers and the hard work and dedication from all our staff members that we have grown enough to justify this new facility. I am so proud to be the Managing Director of this great company.”
